There is no Caste System in Sikhism, caste system in the truest sense is described as "untouchability to the person of lower caste".All Sikhs in Gurdwaras clean, cook and eat Langar together equally in front of Guru, they are all equal . That does not mean that we should shun the professions of our ancestors. Problem is that some professions are described as better then others. Profession of farming is no better then Ironsmith or Carpenter or anyone else.
Professions
that are "described" as castes like "Ramgarhia for Carpenter", "Jutt for
Farmer", "Mazhabi for Worker" "Luhar for Ironsmith", etc, etc, are not castes when followed by Sikhs. These
are their ancestorial professions. A Ramgarhia has every right to be proud
of his ancestors as Jutt and Jutt is no better then Mazhabi or Ramgahia or Luhar, it is just another profession or Work. All works are good! Guru Nanak Dev ji himself was employed in many of these professions, he was a Jutt as well as a Businessman, meanwhile Guru Arjan Dev ji and Guru Gobind Singh ji binded books as well as learned the art of creating weapons.
