Chicken Tikka Masala

Ingredients:

    1. 3 lbs of Boneless Chicken, cut into small pieces of approx. 1/2 Inch in size.
    2. Tandoori Masala (can be bought from any Indian store)
    3. 4 chopped onions.
    4. 3 Lemons (squeeze and take out the lemon juice).
    5. 8 chopped Green chillies.
    6. 6 Tomoatoes, cut into small pieces
    7. 2 cloves of minced garlic.
    8. 3" long piece of greated ginger root.
    9. 1/4 tea spoon of saffron.
    10. 2 tea spoon of Red Chilli powder
    11. 1 1/2 tsp cloves powederd
    12. 6 Small crushed cardemoms
    13. 1" Long stick of cinnamon (powered).
    14. 4 TSBP. OF butter (ghee) or oil.
    15. Salt to taste.
    16. 1 TSBP. of Turmeric (Haldi)
    17. 1 TBSP. of Garam Masala
    18. 1 Cup of Water

Method:

  • Mix Tandoori Masala,Lemon Juice, Garlic Powder, Chilli Power.
  • Marinate Chicken Pieces in the mixture for 3-4 hours.
  • Turn on the Oven and wait 5 minutes to warm it up
  • Separately bake these chicken pieces in an oven for about 10-15 minutes on slow heat.
  • Heat butter and then fry garlic, Onions , ginger, turmeric till it is brown in a deep dish pan (approximately 3 minutes on full heat.)
  • Add Tomatoes, Green Chillies and cook on slow heat for 3 minutes .
  • Add Green Chillies and chicken and water, cook for 3 minutes.
  • Put heat on full and wait till there is no water left
  • Add Garam Masala.
  • Cook at medium temperature till the gravy becomes thick.
  • Serve hot with Punjabi Naan.
